Today, 29th June 2012,there will be held an information day dedicated to the protection of the purity of the water and cross border partnership built by RIEW Veliko Turnovo in the framework of the Strategic project „Joint Risk Monitoring during Emergencies in the Danube Area Border“, reference number № 2s-2.2-1, MIS-ETC Code: 166 financed by the European Regional Development fund and the State budgets of Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Romania under the Crossborder Cooperation Programme Romania-Bulgaria 2007-2013.
The information day is dedicated to the Danube river day – 29th June – an international day for a cleaner and safer river, product of the efforts and sixteen year long partnership among the countries from the Danube river basin. The message „Be active-protect the rivers!“ will reach the public and the citizens by means of a theme poster made as part of the activities under the project.
With the kind support of Basin directorate for water management in the Danube river region – Pleven you will be able to get acquainted with the current state of waters in the Danube and the Yantra rivers in a specifically prepared for that purpose presentation.
Water of the Danube river- let us use it reasonably and not pollute it! – This is our appeal towards the public, parties and regions made by Dipl. Eng. Nadejda Petkova- chief expert at the environmental inspectorate. She will present information about the Yantra river areas under control of RIEW Veliko Turnovo, industrial sources of pollution and the stage of construction of water purification equipment.
Cross border cooperation for the protection of the purity of the water in the Low Danube river basin will be presented by the project leader Ms.Kamelia Djanabetska on a national forum, organised by The Federation of the Scientific – Engineering Unions in Bulgaria, Scientific-Technical Union of Water Affairs (STUWA) and Global water partnership – Bulgaria.
